Sunshine Industries is a new Day Use Center for adults with developmental disabilities designed to replace an older deteriorating facility. The center provides vocational services for clients as well as educational services and life-training skills.

The center consists of a large flexible day room, a woodshop, and supporting office space all of which focus around an outdoor courtyard. The day room opens directly onto the courtyard providing an expansive outdoor room that can function as an extension of the day room as well as bringing a sense of beauty to the space.

The roof forms take full advantage of the opportunity for photovoltaic panels and the cross-section of the building allows ample cross-ventilation.
