Eugene is the home of the Good Earth Home, Garden, & Living Show, a home show focusing on green building and sustainable living. We decided to enter for the first time in 2008, the second year of the show, to show our support for the event and to reach out to potential clients who might be interested in utilizing green strategies in a project. The resulting design challenge was to create a 10’ x 10’ booth that reflected who we are and what we do, in a visually pleasing display that felt inviting and inspiring to visitors who passed by. 

The final design utilizes two bookshelves as a structure, spanned by a rod from which printed cloth banners are suspended. This assembly sits atop a base that conceals light fixtures, which are pointed upward to backlight the banners. Samples of products and materials are displayed on the bookshelves, and models and printed materials are displayed on a table at the front corner of the booth. Along the other side, a projector displays a slideshow of project images onto a freestanding scrim panel.
