The Evergreen Family Medicine center was designed to consolidate all of the company’s 75+ medical practitioners and lab personnel throughout the Roseburg area. The new 38,000 sq.ft. facility supports close collaboration between practitioners and easier access for patients. The extensive use of daylighting admits an abundance of natural light from many sources, creating the tranquil and healing environment sought by this family-oriented medical group.
The building was designed to reflect the vision of the medical group which was to create “A System of Care”. The doctors had been scattered among various offices, and wanted to create a clinic which would offer patients all the services that they could provide in one location. This vision was realized by grouping the high-volume uses on the first floor: the urgent care, laboratory services, and radiology departments. On the second floor, the doctors’ areas are arranged in ‘pods’ of offices, exam rooms and nurses stations. This arrangement contributes to efficiency and good communication between the doctors and patients.
This project features a series of glass panels by artist Annah James. In the main reception areas on both floors, there is an overhanging soffit above the reception desks. The addition of art in the public areas makes the building very inviting and healing to the users.
