2fORM Architecture relocated to a new office in September 2007 and consequently embarked on an in-house design project of remodeling and personalizing the new space. This included design & construction of a conference room and reception area, modification of interior walls, a lot of painting, and space planning to accommodate all of our workspaces and equipment. Key features include:
- Use of reclaimed bleacher seats to construct the conference room
- A new glazed garage door, allowing the front portion of the office to be daylit and encouraging regular office barbeques!
- A front reception area with group critique space and a custom-designed reception workstation.
This first round of remodeling has improved the aesthetic and functional qualities of the space, while giving it a sense of character that evokes the personality of our company. However, this space is, and always will be, a work in progress…architects have an insatiable appetite for scheming design ideas to improve a space. Our next project will be to create an outdoor room at the entry that can be used as an extension of the group critique space, especially on nice days when the garage door is open. Check back soon to see our progress!
