Richard Shugar has focused his 16-year career on the exploration of innovative design solutions, capturing the connection between people and their environment. His sensitive and intuitive style enables him to quickly establish a rapport with clients. What results are uniquely crafted solutions meeting clients’ programmatic needs. Richard’s experience includes commercial buildings, custom houses, medical facilities, interior design and historic preservation.


Richard’s enthusiasm for how the built environment impacts our quality of life is evident in his many contributions and affiliations within the community. He has served as Adjunct Professor at University of Oregon School of Architecture and Allied Arts from 1999-2003 and as president of the local AIA chapter in 2003.
